Faces of Columbus
CSU Students’ Photo Wall

The Faces of Columbus is a public artwork by Art Project (AP). This collaborative group that is composed of students, faculty and alumni of the Department of Art at CSU. Our mission for this specific project is to create a visual catalogue of who lives and makes up our community through the use of photography. We wish as a group to promote a positive message for the community and reflect on the dialogue about whom our city is comprised of, how we coexist, and what is going on in Columbus today. Columbus might be spread out, but either way, we all make up what is ‘Columbus’.”

This specific portrait of Columbus project is designed and directed by Julianna Wells, a sophomore in the Department of Art at CSU. With the support of Artbeat of Columbus for the 2015 Artbeat festival and Uptown Inc, we were able create this project and get a location to install the piece. Since beginning of February, Marisol Pena, Julianna Wells, Brandon Sweeny, and Marina Savashynskaya went out to the city and started taking photo of people. Julianna Wells, Cole Cowsert, Kaitlynn Underwood, Adreana Tiptop, and Brandon Sweeney installed all day Sunday. As they installed the piece, people came up to asked about the project and started some interesting conversation about it.
